PC-Based Architecture

FlightSafety was the first to begin widespread use of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS), PC-based simulation architecture. We use Intel based processors running Microsoft Windows operating systems to operate our high-fidelity simulation devices, ensuring reliability and flexibility. PC architecture also guarantees that our systems are universally accessible, easy to maintain and highly supportable.

We’ve installed COTS PC architecture on hundreds of Level D full-motion simulators and more than 1,000 flight training devices and desktop simulators. Those systems have proven to be robust – FlightSafety simulation systems average above 99.6 percent reliability. With FlightSafety systems, you spend your time training, not working on your trainer.
