It's hard for me to believe, but this is my sixty-third year in aviation. I have been
privileged to enjoy such a long and rewarding career because throughout the decades many
good people have put their faith in me. I am grateful more than they can ever know. The
list of individuals is a long one. Sadly, many of these friends, co-workers, customers
and business associates are gone. I can never repay their trust, their patience and, in
some cases, their forgiveness.
But it occurred to me that this Sight lecture could serve in some small way to acknowledge
the faith and hard effort of all those wonderful people. Because of them, FlightSafety came
into being and has grown to be healthy and strong. The story of FlightSafety International
is their story, and its telling now is to honor them.
